City To Recognize Lied Discovery Children’s Museum 20th Anniversary
City Council To Also Recognize Local Doctor As Citizen Of The Month

The city of Las Vegas will celebrate 20 years of the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum at the Wednesday, Sept. 1, City Council meeting, which will take place following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in City Hall council chambers, located at 400 Stewart Ave.

The museum has a long history of serving the city’s children and families and Ward 5 Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow will present a proclamation to museum management.

The City Council will also recognize Dr. Michael Colletti as the September Citizen of the Month. Dr. Colletti recently performed emergency surgery in a restaurant on a man who was choking to death. The man survived the experience thanks to Dr. Colletti’s quick intervention.

Councilman Steve Wolfson will recognize the Foundation for Recovery as part of National Recovery Month. The group helps people beat dangerous addictions.

In addition, the city council will recognize the Las Vegas High School Alumni Association for its work in the community. Finally, the council will recognize two teams of city employees as the Teams of the Quarter.
