City Of Las Vegas To Offer Free Training Session On Revised Zoning Codes And Master Plans

 

The city of Las Vegas Planning & Development Department is presenting the third in a series of quarterly training sessions for the public to learn about the latest updates and revisions to the city’s 2010 zoning codes and master plan. This free session will enable customers to stay current and ask questions about adopted changes to the codes and plans that were made in the last quarter.

The training session will start at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the city of Las Vegas Development Services Center, located at 731 S. Fourth St. The meeting will be held in Conference Room 2B.

Ordinances that will be covered are:

 6/2/1010  2010-20  6095  Revises and updates zoning-related application and hearing procedures generally; provides that Planning Commission action on most special use permits is final, unless appealed or requested for review by a member of the City Council; and provides a procedure for Required Reviews of approved zoning applications.
 7/21/2010  2010-22  6098  Updates the city’s zoning and licensing regulations that apply to community residences (commonly referred to as group homes) and similar uses.
 7/21/2010  2010-24  6099  Updates the zoning regulations pertaining to shopping centers and malls.
 8/4/2010  2010-26  6101  Updates the zoning regulations to establish the use “beer/wine/cooler cultural establishment;” redefines the current use relating to private museums and art galleries to allow the sale of art; and amends the Downtown Centennial Plan to allow certain outdoor events in the district known as “18b The Las Vegas Arts District.”
 8/4/2010  2010-27  6102 Adopts the Symphony Park Design Standards Manual and related design documents.
 8/4/2010  2010-28  6103  Adopts the Safety and Seismic Safety Element of the Las Vegas 2020 Master Plan.
 8/4/2010  2010-29  6104  Adopts the Historic Properties and Neighborhoods Preservation Plan Element of the Las Vegas 2020 Master Plan.
