Community residents are invited to join Las Vegas Ward 5 Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow for a Safe Summer Nights celebration that will give residents the opportunity to get acquainted and have fun while enjoying free entertainment and food. The festivities will be held on Thursday, July 22, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Matt Kelly Elementary School, 1900 N. J St. The Mexico Vivo Dance Company will perform. There will also be face painters, a disc jockey for music, children’s games and free refreshments of hot dogs, chips and chilled water, while supplies last.
Area residents can also learn about family activities, health services, community safety, money management programs, adult education opportunities and much more.
“These Safe Summer Nights celebrations have been well attended by the community,” Councilman Barlow said. “Thursday’s event is the last in the series of three celebrations this year, and it would be great if everyone comes out and joins me for a fun-filled evening.”
The Safe Summer Nights celebrations are hosted by the Nevada Youth Alliance and Sunrise Children’s Foundation in partnership with the city of Las Vegas and the Clark County School District.
