The Las Vegas City Council today revoked the business license of a massage parlor in Ward 1 that had been facing allegations of allowing prostitution. The owner of Oriental Angels Massage, located at 2600 W. Sahara Ave. #115, must also pay a $50,000 fine.
The owner appeared before the council today to respond to a complaint seeking disciplinary action against Oriental Angels Massage based on allegations of prostitution. Between 2008 and 2010, five individuals employed at Oriental Angels Massage have been arrested for soliciting prostitution. The owner had also been accused of operating a business that failed to require its employees to acquire and maintain valid licenses to act as massage therapists.
“It’s time we stamp out this type of activity, “said Ward 1 Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian. “It is dispiriting at times that it takes so long to get this accomplished. With a never give up attitude, persistence and hard work by Metro Police and our city, however, it has been done. "
The City Council voted unanimously to revoke the business license of Oriental Angels Massage. The $50,000 fine, which was approved by a 4-3 vote, was based on evidence of a pattern of illegal conduct.
