Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Bomb Squad Handles Incident After Traffic Stop

 

Members of the Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Bomb Squad responded to the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard this morning at the request of Metro Police to investigate a suspicious device in a pickup truck. The device was rendered safe by the bomb squad.  There were no reported injuries.

Metro Police requested Las Vegas Fire & Rescue’s Bomb Squad respond to the intersection at 10:30 a.m. Using two robots, which are part of the team, the vehicle and items were searched and the device was found to be a credible threat.  It was rendered safe on scene by the robots and then the vehicle was extensively searched further by the robots to ensure no other threat was found in the vehicle.

Metro Police is handling the investigation of the incident.
