Gibson Community School Offers Pilates Classes

The Pilates form of exercise develops long, lean muscles and a strong abdominal core. Certified trainer Dora Shaffer teaches two Pilates classes each week at Gibson Community School, on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 12 to 1 p.m. Participants age 10 through adults may choose either of two six-week sessions; one day per week for $35 or both days for $55. Gibson Community School, located at 3990 West Washington Avenue, is a recreational facility operated by the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services. It offers a variety of classes and programs, including Little Graduates early childhood education, English as a Second Language, parenting classes, cheer gymnastics, self-defense, team sports and day camps. Its popular hip hop dance team program is open to children and teens.
